ELISSA RINGIN - NATURAL LIGHT PHOTOGRAPHER AND ARTIST

For over 15 years, I’ve worked as a family photographer, capturing meaningful moments and genuine connections. More recently, I’ve begun blending my love of photography with a growing passion for art, creating original acrylic paintings alongside a collection of fine art prints.

My creative journey began in childhood, surrounded by nature—growing, picking, and arranging flowers in the garden. As I grew, so did my love for visual storytelling. Drawing came first, and eventually photography followed, evolving from a passion into a business that has grown alongside my family.

Photography, to me, is timeless. There’s something incredibly special about the way light can hold a moment still—preserving emotion, connection, and the small details that might otherwise pass us by. My style is natural, simple, and honest, with a strong focus on emotion and detail.

I’m also deeply passionate about making photography accessible and inclusive. I strive to create a relaxed and supportive experience for all families, including those living with disability or additional needs. Every family deserves to have their story told and their memories preserved—these images become lasting reminders of love, belonging, and connection.

As a natural light photographer, I’m drawn to what is real and un-posed. I work across South East Melbourne, West Gippsland and South Gippsland, specialising in outdoor family photography. I especially love working in natural settings—whether it’s the beach, the bush, or a quiet rural landscape.

My painting practice is an extension of my photography. Using my images as a foundation, I explore texture, colour, and expressive brushwork to create original artworks that bring a different dimension to the same sense of feeling and story. I love the brightness and energy they bring to a room.

I’m based in Berwick, Victoria, where I live with my husband—my best friend—and our two energetic and thoughtful boys. It was them who first inspired me to pursue photography professionally. I wanted to hold onto every moment of their wild, funny, and love-filled childhood—and that desire continues to shape the way I capture life for others.

If you’d like to learn more or start creating your own collection of meaningful images, or speak to me about creating your own custom artwork I’d love to hear from you.
